Ivermectin and pyrantel
It is a dewormer.
This product is used for the prevention of heartworm disease and for the treatment of roundworms and some hookworms.
Do not use, except under the supervision of a veterinarian, if your pet has a developmental disorder, breastfeeds, is less than 6 weeks of age or if your dog is of a colley-related breed.
When the drug is properly administered, adverse effects are very rare. However, it is possible to observe vomiting, decreased activity, hypothermia. The drug may cause neurological toxicity.
If your pet has serious, worsening or persistent adverse effects, contact your veterinarian immediately.
It is important to make sure that your pet's condition is improving and that there are no side effects.
Do not use this medication unless advised by a veterinarian if your pet is taking amiodarone, benzodiazepine , carvedilol, clarithromycin, cyclosporine, diethylcarbamazine , diltiazem, erythromycin , itraconazole , ketamine, ketoconazole , levamisole , morantel , organophosphate , piperazine, quinidine, spinosad , spironolactone, tamoxifen or verapamil.
At room temperature, excess heat or cold should be avoided. This medication should be protected from the light. It is therefore important to put the other chewable cubes in their original container.
Make sure that the drug is suitable for your pet's weight. It is possible to administer the medication with a small amount of food, but it is important to make sure that your pet has ingested all the medication. Do not crush the chewable cube before giving it.
The product must therefore be given in its original state. Wash your hands after handling the Heartgard®. If this product comes in contact with your eyes, rinse thoroughly.
Respect the expiry date of the product, as an expired product may be less effective or potentially harmful to your pet's health.
