Colour: Generally tricolor (black, white and red) or bicolor, but all colours are recognized.

Origins: Bred in England nearing the end of the 18 th century so as to hunt hare and rabbits. The Basset Hound is the
result of a breed between a Bloodhound and the Norman Artesian Basset.

Personality: Has a deep, melodious voice. Very enduring, never aggressive, very good with children and talented in
hounding in groups. Very stubborn, they need a firm hand during training. They need a lot of space and exercise.

Common health issues: Their eyes and ears are very vulnerable to infections (ectropion, entropion, otitis)

Additional notes: can be a hunting dog or a house pet.
