Origin and History: This breed is of very ancient origin. The ancestors are probably Arab dogs crossed with Portuguese water dogs who arrived in France around 700 AD.

Personality: This is a very nice pet dog that has good character. They are faithful, sociable and intelligent. As well as being an extroverted dog who always seems happy.

Known health problems: eye diseases, Legg-Perthes-Calvé, enthropion, epilepsy, gastric torsion, sebaceous adenitis
