Origin and history: Three races are at the origin of this one: the water spaniels, the primitive labradors and the poodles.
Personality: Robust, strong, enduring, active, courageous, affectionate but independent. He has a very fine nose, and is an excellent swimmer.
Known health problem: hip dysplasia, progressive atrophy of the retina, entropion, cataract, torsion of stomach, hypothyroidism, epilepsy.
