This medication decreases the acidity in the stomach.
Omeprazole is used in dogs and cats to reduce gastric acidity, and to treat or prevent the formation of ulcers in the stomach.
Do not give this medication to animals that are allergic to it.
Omeprazole is generally well tolerated by domestic animals.
Some side effects are possible: loss of appetite, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence (gas), loss of protein in the urine and neurological signs.
Interactions with other drugs:
Omeprazole may interact with other medications. It is therefore important to inform the veterinarian in charge of the animal if it is already taking medication when starting omeprazole.
Omeprazole is available in tablets.
Store the product at room temperature.
