This medication is used in dogs and cats to help relax inflamed or traumatized muscles.
It is also used to stop tremors caused by various intoxications.
Unless otherwise directed by a veterinarian, do not give this medication to animals with kidney disease.
The most common side effects are sedation, excessive drooling, vomiting, weakness, and staggering gait.
Interactions with other drugs:
Methocarbamol may interfere with the effectiveness of certain medications if used simultaneously. You can ask your veterinarian which ones.
Please also tell the veterinarian if your pet is already taking any drug(s) before starting treatment with methocarbamol. This will allow us to make sure that they are compatible.
Methocarbamol is available in tablets and in an injectable solution.
Store the product at room temperature.
Methocarbamol can make animals' urine darker than usual. This change is not worrisome.
