Its use is contraindicated in animals suffering from glaucoma, heart disease, hypertension, or in pregnant females. Possible side effects include anxiety, agitation, urinary retention, and hypertension. Veterinary supervision is recommended, particularly to monitor blood pressure. Propalin® may interact with certain medications, requiring prior consultation. It should be stored at room temperature, away from light. In case of severe adverse effects, contact a veterinarian immediately.

- Do not use in animals suffering from: - Glaucoma - Heart disease - Hypertension - Epilepsy - Diabetes mellitus - Liver or kidney disease - Contraindicated in pregnant or lactating females - Avoid use if undergoing treatment with: - Tricyclic antidepressants - Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) - Anticholinergics
- Anxiety and agitation - Irritability - Urinary retention - Increased heart rate - Hypertension - Loss of appetite - Very rare cases of cerebrovascular accidents have been reported
