Mydriacyl® is a veterinary eye drop containing tropicamide, used to temporarily dilate the pupils of animals for fundus examination and to prevent or treat synechiae after cataract surgery.
Form
Mydriacyl® is an eye drop containing tropicamide, a mydriatic agent that temporarily dilates the pupils of animals. Its fast-acting and short-duration effect makes it ideal for examining the fundus in veterinary clinics. It is also used to prevent or treat synechiae after cataract surgery.
Avoid using it in patients with glaucoma, as this medication may cause increased light sensitivity and a temporary reduction in tear production. Store it at room temperature, away from light, and follow usage precautions for safe application.

Anticholinergic medications: Combining Mydriacyl with other anticholinergics may amplify side effects such as dry eyes and sensitivity to light. Glaucoma medications: It may reduce the effectiveness of glaucoma treatments by increasing intraocular pressure. General anesthetics: Interaction with certain anesthetics can lead to undesirable cardiovascular effects. Antihistamines: They may enhance Mydriacyl's side effects, including dry mouth and visual disturbances.
Glaucoma: It should not be used in animals suffering from glaucoma, as it may worsen intraocular pressure.
It may cause increased sensitivity to light, a burning sensation, superficial corneal inflammation, and a temporary reduction in tear production.
