To avoid excessive weight gain, if the Kong® is used to hide food, the amount of food must not exceed the dog's daily caloric needs. The amount of food the dog eats from a bowl must also be taken into account. Treats should not replace your dog's basic diet. They should never exceed more than 10% of your dog's daily caloric needs. Always consider the number of Kcal provided by treats in calculating your dog's daily caloric needs in addition to the number of Kcal provided by your dog's basic diet. Remove all treats, biscuits or kibble from the toy and rinse it with warm water. Do not use soapy water as soap residue may change the taste of the toy and treats.
