Muro 128® is a hypertonic ophthalmic ointment used to temporarily relieve corneal edema in animals, under veterinary supervision.
Form
Muro 128® is a hypertonic ophthalmic ointment containing 5% sodium chloride, used to alleviate corneal edema in companion animals. This medication helps reduce water accumulation in the cornea, which causes a hazy appearance in the eye. It should be stored at room temperature and applied under veterinary supervision. During use, clean the eye before application, avoid touching the tip, and disinfect after each use. Stop the treatment and consult the veterinarian if the eye worsens or shows no improvement after a few days. This product may cause a temporary burning sensation.

– Observation of side effects: Monitor for signs of irritation, burning, or blurred vision.
– Cleaning before application: Use a non-irritating solution to prepare the eye.
– Spacing out applications: Wait 5 minutes between ophthalmic products for optimal absorption.
Muro 128® is not known to significantly interact with other medications, as it is applied locally to the eyes. However, it is recommended to: - Space out applications: Wait at least 5 minutes between using Muro 128® and other ophthalmic medications. - Use drops before ointments: This allows better absorption of liquid solutions. - Consult a veterinarian: Inform them of any ongoing treatments to avoid potential risks.
Allergies: Hypersensitivity to sodium chloride or any other component of the product. Pregnancy and lactation: Use is not recommended without medical advice. Severe infections: Do not use in cases of severe eye infections without prior consultation. Eye lesions: Avoid applying to eyes with open wounds or ulcers.
Eye irritation: A temporary burning or tingling sensation may occur after application. Allergic reactions: Rare, but may include redness, swelling, or itching.
It is recommended to stop the medication and consult the veterinarian in charge of the animal if:
– The issue is not resolved by the end of the treatment.
– The appearance of the eye worsens during the treatment.
– The animal seems uncomfortable when the ointment is applied.
– There is no improvement 2 to 3 days after starting the treatment.
