Form
Epakitin® contains calcium carbonate. This phosphorus binder reduces the absorption of phosphorus in the digestive system. It treats animals with chronic kidney disease and high levels of phosphorus in their blood. Administer this product during meals to optimize its effectiveness. Animals generally tolerate it well. Veterinarians monitor calcium and phosphorus levels in the blood to ensure proper usage. Epakitin® improves the quality of life for your companions by helping them better manage kidney issues.

Blood level evaluation: Regular monitoring of phosphorus and calcium levels to prevent imbalances.
Side effect observation: Watch for signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, or hypercalcemia.
Veterinary consultations: Periodic follow-ups to adjust the treatment and ensure its effectiveness.
Drug interactions: Avoid if the animal is taking fluoroquinolones, calcitriol, or digoxin, unless advised by a veterinarian.
Hypercalcemia: Do not use if the animal has an abnormally high level of calcium in the blood.
Digestive issues: Vomiting or diarrhea. Rare allergic reactions: Itching, swelling, or breathing difficulties. Increased blood calcium: Risk of hypercalcemia, particularly with overdose. Electrolyte imbalances: Related to phosphorus binding in the digestive system.
