SENVELGO® is a daily oral solution that reduces hyperglycemia in cats, providing effective glycemic control and easy administration.
Form
SENVELGO® is a liquid oral solution taken daily that helps reduce hyperglycemia in cats with non-insulin-dependent diabetes. Administered directly into the mouth or on a small amount of wet food, it enables effective glycemic control as early as the first week. With precise dosing tailored to the cat’s weight, it minimizes the risk of hypoglycemia and reduces the need for blood glucose monitoring in stabilized cats. Easy to store, it requires no refrigeration before or after opening. Additionally, most cats accept it well, making their medical care more manageable on a daily basis.

Monitoring of Cats Receiving SENVELGO®
– Sudden onset of hyporexia/anorexia, lethargy, dehydration, or weight loss in cats receiving SENVELGO® should prompt immediate discontinuation of treatment and assessment for diabetic ketoacidosis, regardless of blood glucose level.
Evaluate for ketonuria:
– 2 to 3 days after starting treatment
– Around 7 days after initiation
– Anytime the cat shows signs of illness
– If ketonuria is detected, discontinue SENVELGO® and treat promptly with insulin, even if blood glucose is normal.
First 4 weeks of treatment—Monitor glycemic control and clinical improvement:
– Perform a physical examination
– Conduct a blood glucose curve
– Analyze fructosamine levels
– Check body weight at 1 and 4 weeks after starting treatment
Discontinue SENVELGO® and consider insulin therapy for cats with poor glycemic control:
– Weight loss
– Average blood glucose > 300 mg/dL
– Fructosamine > 450 μmol/L after 4 weeks
Ongoing SENVELGO® treatment—Regular monitoring recommended:
– Blood glucose and fructosamine levels
– Urinary ketones
– Serum chemistry
– Body weight and hydration status
– Clinical signs of diabetes mellitus
Presence of ketonuria should prompt SENVELGO® discontinuation and transition to insulin.
Cats with persistently elevated triglyceride or cholesterol levels may show declining glycemic control or pancreatitis, increasing the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis or euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis. Further evaluation and discontinuation of SENVELGO® should be considered.
Persistent elevation of feline pancreas-specific lipase (fPL) requires investigation for pancreatitis and potential discontinuation of SENVELGO®.
Do not use SENVELGO® (velagliflozin oral solution) in cats with diabetes mellitus who have been treated with insulin, who are currently receiving insulin, or who have insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. The use of SENVELGO in insulin-dependent diabetic cats, or the withdrawal of insulin followed by initiation of SENVELGO, increases the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis or euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis, which can be fatal.
Diarrhea or loose stools Weight loss Vomiting Polyuria (increased urine production) Polydipsia (increased thirst) Elevated blood urea nitrogen (BUN)
Keep SENVELGO in a secure location, out of reach of children, dogs, cats, and other animals to prevent accidental ingestion or overdose.
Factors requiring discontinuation of SENVELGO®:
– Presence of ketonuria → transition to insulin
– Persistently elevated triglycerides or cholesterol → risk of pancreatitis and ketoacidosis
– Increased feline pancreas-specific lipase (fPL) → evaluation for pancreatitis
– Unintentional weight loss that does not stabilize within 7 days → assessment for underlying diseases
