When a mother rabbit is unable to nurse, having a reliable formula for baby rabbit milk replacement is essential for survival. This homemade recipe is designed to meet the nutritional needs of orphaned or weak kits.
Ingredients
- 90 ml (3 oz) of 3.25% homogenized milk
- 5 ml (1 tsp) of baby milk powder (SMA™, Enfalac™, or Similac™)
- 3 drops of corn syrup
- 2.5 g (1/2 tsp) of Pablum™
- 3 drops of multivitamins for rodents, birds, or small pets

Preparation and Storage
Mix all ingredients thoroughly until smooth. Store the formula in the refrigerator and use within 24 hours. Warm the milk to about 29°C (84°F) before feeding.
Feeding Tips
- Use a syringe or a small pet bottle to feed.
- Administer slowly in small amounts to prevent aspiration.
- Weigh kits regularly and monitor their activity.
- Keep the face and fur clean after each feeding.
If your baby rabbit shows signs of illness or fails to gain weight, consult a small animal veterinarian promptly for tailored advice and support.
